I thought I’d post another update on how the process is going. In a nutshell, things are moving fast. I feel a bit like a meteor hurtling through time on a collision course with January. Ok, that might be a tad bit dramatic. I was given the opportunity to speak at my home church about what I’m doing and received a wonderful outpouring of encouragement. Both of my workplaces now know I’m leaving, so the word is out.

I recently completed my application for my Swiss visa. I must say, I really do not have an affinity for paperwork. This combined with vague instructions and a 5 page, half-French visa form made the process of applying way more tedious and time-consuming than I could have imagined. I even had to take my own visa photos to conform to the EU standards before work one morning. I remember one evening staring blankly at one of the less well-worded questions and wondering why on earth I was putting myself through this. Then I was gently reminded, in the way I so often am, by a still small voice why I am doing this and the purpose and call behind it. I think I may have blushed just a little as I remembered that at the end of the day, all of this is for the Lord and that is why it matters. It reminded me of that all too familiar Sunday school verse I must have heard 10,000 times, Colossians 3:23. It was a good reminder to keep my sights set on what really matters and not to get overwhelmed by the details; it is all in His hands.
